BMaynard Scarborough Executive Director
BMaynard Scarborough, an Atlanta, Georgia native, serves as Executive Director of The Alliance and will be responsible for the firm’s day-to-day operation from their Colony Square headquarters in Midtown Atlanta. Mr. Scarborough, just prior to returning to his hometown from Boston, Massachusetts, served as Director of Public Affairs & Spokesman for The Boston Globe newspaper (a New York Times Company). Previous to that appointment, he served as the Director of Corporate Communications & Advertising for the Northeast Region of Equity Office Properties, Inc., Director of Marketing for Beacon Properties, Inc., Director of External Affairs for Boston Ballet Company, Director of Public Affairs for Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, Inc., and Public Relations Manager at the Massachusetts Port Authority. Mr. Scarborough’s transition from his 20-year leadership career in Boston to Atlanta also included an assignment to serve as the Vice President of Corporate Communications at Cousins Properties Incorporated. His extensive public affairs career began with an appointment by Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn to serve as the Executive Assistant and Press Secretary in the Office of Consumer Affairs & Licensing in 1985.
Mr. Scarborough majored in English and Broadcast Communications at Morehouse College – where he also edited the college newspaper and served as on-air talent and content producer at neighboring Clark College’s pilot news and information broadcasts.
