Boston Digital Empowerment Project - Executive Presentation

Post Event Coverage

The Alliance for Digital Equality maintains that the key to expanding opportunities for all communities is through Digital Empowerment.  For those individuals with access to broadband or wireless technologies and the proper training to use it, unprecedented opportunity will always be at their fingertips.

However, not everyone has those advantages, and this inequality is most prominent in the nation’s underserved communities.

On Monday, August 18, 2008, our leadership will discuss the potential socio-economic impact of affordable broadband deployment in the areas of job creation, public health, public safety, urban development and educational advancement.

Participants:
  • Julius H. Hollis, ADE Chairman
  • Senator Rodney Elllis, Texas State Senator and ADE Board Member
  • Dr. Jabari Simama, Vice President of Community Development at Benedict College and Authored, "Affordable Broadband:  Empowering Communities Across the Digital Divide"
  • BMaynard Scarborough, ADE Executive Director
  • Earlexia Norwood, M.D., Physician-In-Charge of the Henry Ford Medical Center-Troy and N.E. Region Division Head of Family Medicine and ADE Digital Empowerment Council (DEC) Chairperson
  • Roger Salazar, ADE Deputy Communications Director
