The Mayor's Commission on Technology is holding a week-long series of events in Philadelphia in an effort to narrow the digital divide in the African American community.

Stephanie Lowe is with the Mayor's Commission on Technology. She says a series of 15 free technology events throughout Philadelphia will celebrate Black Family Technology Awareness Week- - February 14th through the 20th.

“These events will help inform, educate, and entertain kids and adults about science, technology, engineering and math to help narrow the digital divide in the African American community.”

Lowe says the divide is narrowing but research indicates pockets of the community to little to no technology or tech literacy.
For a list of events, go to roundtheway.org or call the commission at 215-686-8150.
